How to Install Joomla

Before doing the installation you need to complete several applications that will be used so that Joomla can be operated on your computer. This is a list of applications and preparation must be done before the installation of Joomla.

• Joomla 1.0.3, can be downloaded at http://www.joomla.org

• Apache Server, PHP, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin, to facilitate this installation using XAMPP for windows applications that are available and can be downloaded at http://www.apachefriends.org. You just simply follow the installation instructions only. XAMPP installation with your computer will automatically install Apache Server, PHP, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin.

Installing Joomla

You just simply follow the installation instructions only. XAMPP installation with your computer will automatically install Apache Server, PHP, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin.

Installing Joomla
Preparation before the installation of Joomla

1. Joomla 1.0.3 extract files to the folder C: \ apachefriends \ xampp \ htdocs \ Joomlaku.

2. Enable Apache Server, PHP, and MySQL. Run applications that have been installed XAMPP and press the Start button on the Apache and MySQL to the Start button changes to Stop. If not, try disabling your IIS or Personal Web Server you.

After all has been prepared, let's start the installation of Joomla. Follow the steps below:

1. Open a web browser and type http://localhost/Joomlaku. Your website will display as the display in this picture.

2. Ensure that all installation requirements are met and press the Next button>> to continue.

3. On this page will display an agreement that you must obey if you want to use Joomla. Click the Next button>> to continue.

4. Enter the MySQL database configuration. MySQL database configuration information:

o Host Name, the name of the host name, usually filled with localhost

o MySQL User Name, username used to access MySQL, usually filled root or username provided your web hosting

o MySQL password, the password used to access MySQL, use the password to your web security.

o MySQL Database Name, the name of the database for Joomla.

o MySQL Table Prefix, prefix used for your database tables.

When you've completed all continue to click the Next button>>. A moment later a message will appear asking for confirmation that the configuration you have entered. If all is correct, press the OK button.

5. On this page you are asked to give a name to your website. Give the name and press the Next button>> to continue.

6. Please confirm the URL, absolute directories, e-mail admin and chmods directory. Enter your e-mail address and password for your admin. Click Next>>.

7. Congratulations you have successfully done the installation of Joomla Do not forget to remove the installation directory on your Joomla directory.

Web Page and Administrator
After successful installation let's try to access the Joomla website.

1. Visit your Joomla website http://localhost/joomlaku/ address. If you do not remove the installation directory on your Joomla directory then your website and web administrators will display a warning message.

2. Visit your Joomla website http://localhost/joomlaku/administrator address.

3. Login with username 'admin' and your admin password.
